The church, dedicated to Saint George, was built in the 14th century on a rocky hill dominating the village, next to the nuraghe de Sas trinta battallas. The hill also overlooks the valley where the Gosogoleo stream flows into Lake Gusana.

The building is made of local stone and consists of a rectangular nave, which is painted white and punctuated by pointed arches. Three small chapels open onto the nave on each side. There is a baptismal font with a finely carved wooden cover to the left of the entrance.

In 2012, when the church was renovated, some frescoes were uncovered on the presbytery ceiling close to the niche housing the 18th-century statue of St George on a white horse spearing the dragon at his feet.

The façade is surmounted by a gable roof with a bell gable on the right and two buttresses flanking the entrance. There are three more buttresses on both sides of the church.

The church overlooks a pretty square spread over multiple levels with a spectacular view of the landscape below, from the mountains in Oliena and the Gennargentu massif to the village of Teti and the woodland surrounding Lake Gusana.

The feast day of St George, the patron saint of the town, falls on April 23.
